A hearing will be held today on the bail appeal of singer Samar Singh, alias Samarjit Singh, who is incarcerated in Varanasi District Jail on accusations of abetting Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey to commit suicide. During the hearing in the court of District and Sessions Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh on Wednesday, the advocate of the plaintiff asked for time to file the objection. On which the court had established the next date of hearing as May 19, i.e., today.
Please mention that Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey was found dead on March 26 in a hotel room in Sarnath district. Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh was detained in Ghaziabad in the late hours of April 6 on charges of abetting Akanksha Dubey's suicide. On April 8, he was transferred to Varanasi District Jail in judicial custody.
Samar Singh's friend is also in jail.
In this instance, Samar Singh's friend Sanjay Singh was arrested on April 12 and sent to jail in judicial custody. On April 26, an application was made on behalf of Samar Singh at the District and Sessions Judge's court for bail.
The court has slated May 6 for a hearing on Samar Singh's bail application. After this, the next date of hearing was established for May 9. However, the attorneys were on strike to protest against the move of the Civil Court. Therefore, the court of District and Sessions Judges had appointed May 17 as the next date for hearing on the bail application of Samar Singh. Now whether Samar Singh will receive bail or not can be decided today.
